Pegylated Mechano Growth Factor (PEG-MGF)

Pegylated Mechano Growth Factor is a unique form of the IGF gene recognized as a peptide that plays a critical role in recovery after intense exercise. It enhances the repair of injured muscle tissues more efficiently than the commonly known IGF-1, which is utilized for promoting growth in children and supporting anabolic functions in adults.

Both PEG-MGF and IGF-1 are classified as polypeptide hormones, distinct from the myoblasts where embryonic cells evolve into muscle fibers. PEG-MGF not only stimulates myoblast division but also encourages the maturation of muscle fibers, making it essential for fostering muscle growth in adults.

Effectiveness

Initially, one challenge encountered by users of MGF was its quick metabolism in the body. PEG-MGF is designed to be water-soluble, allowing it to remain effective for a limited time. Consequently, researchers identified the need to pegylate MGF, attaching it to a polyethylene glycol molecule, enhancing its stability and facilitating its efficient transit through the bloodstream.

Solubility & Storage

For optimal results, it is advisable to dilute Lyophilised PEG-MGF in sterilized water, with the option to further dilute it in another aqueous solution. While Lyophilised PEG-MGF remains stable at room temperature for 3-4 weeks, it must be desiccated and stored below -18°C. Once reconstituted, it should be kept at 4°C and protected from direct light for a duration of 10-14 days. Future use storage should also be below -18°C, while avoiding repeat freeze-thaw cycles.
